Postcards..from Movie Paradise?
3D glasses? Pfft, one movie fan takes it further – he takes you to the actual scenes!
Photographer, film enthusiast and basement filmmaker-candidate Christopher Moloney takes his walks around the various filming spots in the NYC while taking shots within shots of place that make you go “…hey, I’ve seen this place before”.
Surreptitiously inserting momentous scenes into the existing landscape, “Movie-Montage” Moloney recreates criminal uprising, zombie apocalypse or idolised love scenes (‘Come on! You KNOW you wanted to see Ramona’s porch’) by super-imposing movie stills over real-life settings for inappropriate fangasm déjà vu.
His website, FILMography (for FILM + photography), lists filming spots us mere mortals would unthinkingly walk by without so much as a glance, missing their incredible, though missed-it-in-a-blink-of-an-eye, importance in movie-making history.
Lucky for us, Moloney’s eye for detail (and unlimited bus passes) provides us movie fans opportunities to remember these favorite scenes, or just plan for our next New York trip.
